Look man, fact is, the only popular and legit way of earning money at home is taking surveys, and even still you don’t earn much for the shear amount of people already doing it. The other way is advertising, which I’m sure people will do on this post. You click their link and it gives them credit for someone clicking it, and they get a little bit of cash in return (like cents per click). Most of the time it’s lies, like these people here, and they lure you in to some crappy business advertisement in hopes of you taking an interesting to the crappy offer. I know it’s appealing to work at home but it’s almost impossible to make a living this way, and most people make it seem like it’s the greatest thing in the world and it’s easy.. and those are the scammers and people luring you in for their own profit. Give up now, there isn’t a way unless you know someone personally with their own business or you start your own, which I wouldn’t recommend because you would be competing with literally millions of other online businesses.

I’m a part-time work-at-home-mom hoping to quit my part-time job and work at home full time like I used to. I’m a medical transcriptionist, word processor, virtual administrative assistant – basically I type a lot and I have a client that I type all of his communications for his business. I’m looking for more work to do at home too. I’m hoping to be a professional proofreader for court reporters and I have small ads on court reporting websites but for some reason I can’t get any new clients. I’m desperate. The doctor I used to do work for, cut down, and I need to find a new doctor too. Everything DOES seems like a scam out there and I’m not sure which way to turn. Good luck!

If they ask you for money they are scams.

There are home based businesses that do work though. I have one friend that setup a web site and sells custom T shirts and stuff like that.

I work at home, well I have attached an office to my home, I provide Electrical Engineering Services to industry. I have been doing it full time since 1995. It takes a long time to develop the contacts, but it can be done.

There is no such thing as low start up… I have been in business twice now and each time it has cost me big time.

But if it helps, you have two choices once you find your talent…

1. Capital start up… To Spend lots of money in buying a system that has already been tested and proven such as Multi-level marketing, franchises, established business. This cost money and can be stressful.

2. Time… You spend lots of time building, designing your own set of systems that will eventually become a big business. This only takes up your spare time and allows you full control.

Beware of a promise of quick returns or low cost-quick start plans, they are not all true… they usually cost money and can loose you friends.

There are huge amounts of information and ways of being in business but the key is to know why you are in business. Email me and I can give you more detail if you like and even site some sources…

Good luck.

I started a home day because of the low start up cost, but I I’m having trouble finding kids, and after 4 months I’m ready to give up. Seems like everybody is doing day care. Do some research in your area maybe day care will work for you.

Don’t waste your time looking for internet “jobs.” You’ll just be bombarded with all kinds of scams.

Hi,

I had the same concerns in the past as there’s so many franchises promoting the “Holy Grail”.
In the last year I’ve done well in my home business. I found the opportunity through MSN and since haven’t looked back.
I really think the difference in my franchise opportunity is the transparency and strong mentorship that is ingrained in the company culture. It’s awesome.. and it helps that we have a great product! No Selling at all.. !

I personally recommend you checking this site out. It’s completely free and legit. It’s not an MLM or affiliate.

My answers is NOT to give up… yes it can be done, no it will not be easy but just like anything else that is hard to do there are REAL people doing exactly what you want to do.. but again you have to be realistic… it’s NOT going to happen overnight. I’ve been scammed before too but this is the best that I have found love the information here and it doesn’t seem too pushy.

Education, education, education ! And ASK lots of questions.

I wrote a blog on advice for working from home. It is NOT a commercial for any business. It basically lays out some things you should look for, how to search, things to ASK, read, etc. BEFORE you jump in on the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ deal, things I learned the HARD way…. through ignorance, trial and error….. You can find a link in the 2nd paragraph of my profile here on answers. Also, please understand I DO NOT recommend anything that is placed on my blog as an advertisement.

Also on my profile is a link to the “MLM Legality Test” written by a very well known MLM attorney. It is well worth the read.

If I can help further, just give me a shout.
