Ask your boss if there is any work you can do at home on a part time or hourly basis. You need to sit down and have a talk with him/her about your situation. you could do daycare for someone else with small children.
I used to do it when my kids were little. I babysat 2 little ones from 7:30 to 5:30 and made decent money. they were 3 and 5 and it was kind of fun. We sang songs, and read stories and molded tons of play doh critters. they also played well with the toys I bought for just that and we went for walks, etc.
Yes it is a job and it only worked for me if I treated it like a job as in I did NOT try to get other house work or errands done while they were there. you can’t do that when you work away from home either.
I also signed them up for a story time once a week at our local library. We had fun. I had 2 of my own at the time, who were close to the same age.
