No, Dreamweaver is not an excellent programs. In fact, it’s a piece of crap.

My thoughts: you don’t necessarily need to hire someone just yet. It really depends first on what your home business is. If you require a lot of interactivity with the user (forms), you may need to hire someone or you can learn it yourself.

If you require a lot of backend database, then you probably want to hire someone.

In other words, the more complicated, the more you’ll need to hire someone.

If you just want to sell a few products, you probably don’t need to hire someone and just have some HTML skills to be able to get Paypal buttons and integrate into your website

There are a lot of free scripts available and lots of plugins if you use wordpress. I would say a lot of business sites I see today could be less complicated and done more cheaply using wordpress.

A good start would be to
figure out what you want your site to do,
what kind of business to do,
find other sites that do similar things and look at their design,
decide what you do and don’t like,
and go from there

You may not need to know that much HTML.
